The Journey Day 1

Starting Point

The Word of God

All scriptures God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and in training in righteousness.” –2 Timothy 3:16
God’s word is what will sustain you in this walk. It is vital to understand His promises, His policies, and His plans for your life.  Jeremiah 29:11 states that the plan God has for you is to prosper you and to give you hope for your future. If you can get this en-grafted in your heart that He has a plan for your life,  regardless of what you may go through, you will overcome.

 Developing Your Reading Plan

Use a Bible translation that you can understand. We recommend New International Version NIV.

Start off in the New Testament, preferably the Gospels, to get familiar with your Savior. (Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) Read one chapter at a time.  When we accept Jesus into our lives, there is an overwhelming feeling of joy and hunger. As we grow in our walk we want to satisfy this hunger. It doesn’t happen in one day. That’s why it’s called The Journey. It’s okay to take your time and study Gods word, one chapter at a time.

Allocate time to study the Word of God. Don’t feel that you should understand it all, write down your questions and bring them back to one of the leaders within the Church.
